Fall severe weather looks to be on the uptick. We've been stuck under a high-pressure ridge for a while now. I hope it's not too bad because all that area will be visually locked in the Texas vs Oklahoma game on Saturday and NFL Sunday. I'm sure it won't happen but I've always worried about a tornado hitting a big sporting event. I remember standing under the stadium bleachers at Mississippi State watching the radar on the big screen when we were suddenly under a tornado warning in November which was always stormy; Were okay after but our football team was beyond saving that season.

I’m not sure about the OKC metro area but the DFW area has really sprawled out in terms of population density and development in recent years. Setups like this always make me a bit nervous because the larger the suburban areas spread, the more likely it is that a populated area will be impacted.

Illinois is getting some tornadoes currently.

Not sure if everybody already suspected or known this or not, but FWIW a La Nina has officially developed. If I'm understanding correctly, la nina's can sometimes lead to higher tornado counts with some exceptions, so I thought this might be relevant to the thread.

Currently a few tornado warnings in Arkansas and Tennessee right on the state line, and SPC says they may put out a tornado watch for parts of SW TN and North MS.

The severe thunderstorm watch got extended into northwest alabama.

Tornado on the ground north of Hillsboro in Highland County, Ohio. Another brief tornado may have touched down west of Hillsboro a little bit earlier.

I knew there was a conditional tornado threat tonight, but can't say I was expecting something so impressive. It'll be interesting to see what storm surveys will find in the coming days. Fortunately, it remained in a sparsely populated area.

South Salem may have taken a direct hit. CC drop showing up and velocities actually ramped up a bit as it moved through town.

Yup South Salem just got hit directly. This is a perfect example of why marginal setups still keep me on my toes around here.

While the rotation has weakened, the cell hasn't degraded at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it tries to drop another tornado.

Not done at all. Starting to tighten back up. It's possible this cell has dropped at least three tornadoes already. A brief one west of Hillsboro, the one north of Hillsboro, and the one that hit South Salem.

Kingston better watch out.

That supercell is still going strong and will likely keep dropping tornadoes as long as it maintains its structure.

Edit: Tight couplet and likely another tornado 2-3 miles NW of Kingston.
