Did I say anything about AOC and Texas? Nope I said AOC and New York You know where she is from.
I also mentioned what AOC is done in NY with relation to Covid. My point was that she has done for her state, as well as Cruz’s state.

Did you say anything about job loss? Your assertion was that she hasn't done anything to help New Yorkers with COVID (or at least that you haven't seen it), and gangstonc countered that she has raised millions for COVID relief in New York. Are you deflecting because you don't want to actually debate your initial claim?

Maybe. I can't find anything on her raising money for New York. I find her doing something for Texas.

How about Pelosi? Anything?

Even more disturbing, I cannot find a single statement AOC issued back on 9/11. Her city was attacked and she did nothing to help her fellow New Yorkers on that day. No charity events. Didn't assist the search efforts at Ground Zero, etc. I could go on and on, but clearly she cares a whole lot more about herself than the people she represents. It should be disqualifying and she should be kicked out of Congress.

Say what you will about Ted Cruz, but I believe the man and his family would always be there for us in a time of national tragedy. While Ted himself wasn't in Dallas that day, Ted Cruz's dad definitely represented the entire Cruz family that day even though JFK obstinately jumped out in front of a bullet. I'm sure Ted's dad, Rafael, would've even rendered aid had the Secret Service allowed armed private citizens to help. I'd have to put that one on the Secret Service and JFK himself.

Don't Lump us all in here like this. I do not worship any man.
Jay I didn't mention you or lump you in with anyone. This is a commentary on several evangelical friends and family members and their adoration of DT who exemplifies the principles and morals they say they abhor in their churches.

I didn't mean it that you were specifically lumping me in with this, I was just saying there are Republicans who are Conservative and Christian, and then there are those who worship the ground Trump walks on. He is only a mere man. This does remind me of the Gold Calf in the bible. Moses had left to go up the mountain and receive the Ten commandments. When he came back, the people in need of someone or something to worship made a golden calf. We need to be reminded that we shouldn't worship any man, but rather worship God.

I've never at all cared about the "Royal Family" as we had a whole war about that a few hundred years ago. So, an American, I have little regard for monarchies. With that in mind, I've actually paid halfway decent attention to the entire Harry/Meghan debacle but generally not because they're "Royals."

A lot of people don't understand what it is like to be married with a spouse of a different race and have children and a spouse subject to casual racism and nasty comments. It's one of the biggest drivers of why I absolutely loathe Trump and the rotten undercurrent of nationalism and racism that he fostered over the past half-decade. I simply do not understand why people care about race or color. You love who you love. Humans are human.

Few things have ever caused me the amount of pain that I've felt after hearing people make racist/abusive comments about my family. I put in on a level similar to what I felt with my father's death when I was a child. To hear people, society, or even random idiots denigrate your family's race/culture is something that I just don't think people can truly understand unless they've experienced it themselves. I have immense sympathy for Meghan and Harry because of that. That they are well-known because they're "Royals" has nothing to do with it. In fact, that should show how not even the elite of society are immune from such vitriolic hate based off of race/culture/color.

I'm not one of these pretentious fools who says "I don't see color" as anyone who says that should get their eyes checked. I understand it is meant to mean something quite different than its literal meaning, but all the same it is a dumb concept and statement. We all see color and other physical characteristics. That being said, I legitimately cannot fathom how/why some people are so hung up on it all.

Whether it is the casual racist, white supremacists/nationalists, or the woke mob, I think we'd all do a lot better if we could do our best to judge people for who they are -- not what they look like or where they come from. As I said, that goes for the racists as well as the supposed "anti-racists" of the woke mob whose actions trivialize the real acts of racism and discrimination that still occur in our society. I guess my point is, people should try a little harder to understand some people have faced real hurt and harm from racism and discrimination. Simultaneously, the current trend of identity politics is toxic beyond belief. It's a form of backwards racism that significantly undermines the best ways we have available to discuss real racism and discrimination in our culture and society. No one is doing a good enough job of listening myself included.

Hopefully, we can get back to a better path in this country (and in Western culture in general) to actually address the societal problems we have in these areas instead of setting up more star chambers that do nothing but harm.

I don't know if there was really any real point to my post other than "Dear Diary..." but it was something I had to get off of my chest. I only saw snippets of the Harry/Meghan interview, but I saw real pain and raw emotion. No one, irrespective of their status, should have to deal with the British tabloids or any racial nonsense. I think we all need to learn how to tune out the more corrosive forms of media (both traditional and social) because it's not good for your soul. It really isn't

You are right about the fact that there are still
Societal problems surrounding race.

What race is Meghan?
I think she's half African American. Her ancestors were slaves in Limestone County.
