Significant Tornado Events

Tbf that's true for a lot of old tornadoes, New Richmond, Sherman, Rochester, and Pomeroy are kinda anomalies in that regard.
Well with New Richmond and some of the others we have the contextual evidence to back it up - Camden, as far as I am aware, we do not. It's kind of like "singular building with no concrete photos heavily damaged with no other evidence of strength".

Anyways, that's an EF thread debate and one I am not in the state of mind to get into. I don't have the sketch on hand but it'd be nice if someone could post it.

I agree, I'm moreso saying that for every tornado that has good proof of F5 damage from that era, there are a bunch others where we have to rely on a few accounts of purported damage. We're very lucky that a majority of tornado damage nowadays ends up documented.

This is a screen cap from an unreleased Skycam25 video that was located around this time last year; it was published in one or two local printed newspapers and I've never seen it posted online.
Very interesting. It was buried in there all along. Barely see the right edge of it honestly.

Unfortunately with PHP2Shell running loose on unpatched servers (look it up; it's very interesting and admittedly quite terrifying stuff) I am afraid that many niche websites with rare damage/funnel images are about to be, or have been, compromised and lost. Think of srh.noaa.gov but way more widespread.

Came across a fun little story published in 1929 that described crew on the J.P. Morgan's private yacht attempting to shoot a tornado with a cannon shot four years earlier. Unsurprisingly it was unsuccessful at stopping it but the entire incident is still hilarious to visualize.

Turns out this story gets even funnier; it began to dissipate (by complete coincidence) right as they shot it, leading to them legitimately thinking it had worked.

This is easily the dumbest story I've ever seen recorded in a newspaper from this time period and I have seen some very weird stuff (including the guy who was shot by his own rifle during Aberdeen 1920).
