Poof. This is some of the more robust model output I've seen from the SW US. Environment favorable for long tracked supercells capable of large hail and a couple tornadoes given high LL instability and strong near surface shear.
Attached is the 0-2km UH tracks. This is a better indicator of what updrafts could actually do, instead of 2-5km which counts elevated. These tracks are more likely to be surface based simulations more than anything. Impressive for this area. Do not zero in on particular areas, this is just a idea of what cells may do. Specific tracks over towns or cities just like the one in St George aren't to be taken as literal.

Ha. That reminds me of something I read many years (decades by now, actually) ago on a long-defunct (and sadly, deceased) storm chasers' website. In his chase account for April 6, 2001, he wrote that some of his contemporaries were hyping up the high-risk day by saying that it could "Make May 3rd (1999, then very fresh in everyone's memory especially in the southern to central Plains) look like dust devil outbreak."
It ended up as a strongly forced linear wind bag with very few confirmed tornadoes, and none of them particularly noteworthy.

Gotcha interesting definitely sounds similar now with the posts on wxtwitter and the hype on there lol

With their contemporaries were hyping it up and the guy I presume your talking about reed talking down the hype and the event being a “bust” with a linear windbag
