It’s been fairly (EERILY) quiet across Dixie lately and nothing highlighted by the SPC D1-8:

Now, how that could translate into the chances for severe weather over that period remains to be seen...

For those interested:
Made a spreadsheet of the North MS tornadoes off my word document using the tornado database off NWS Memphis page. I finished it yesterday. Total tornado count for North MS from 1800 to 2023: 662. Of those 662 tornadoes, 151 occurred during the AM hours while 480 occurred during the PM hours. Highest tornado count by county: 54 (Lee County and Monroe County). Same number for both counties. Lowest tornado count by county: 15 (Benton County). Lowest tornado average by county: 1.3% (Benton County). Highest Tornado Average by county: 4.5% (Both Lee and Monroe County). 2nd Highest Tornado Average by county: 2.25% (Alcorn County).

Definitely see the chances for a southern snow storm or storms. Let’s go January and February gulf lows!

Some severe Thunder snow? Those systems usually cause issues in central Florida.

Finally......The atmosphere is looking to change down the road. Even the Ensembles are honking their horns.This would be most interesting of coarse if its close.

I don’t know a lot about meteorology, but I know that troughs that span the entire country like this one CAN be bad news.

I have to wonder how the polar vortex disruption could (if at all??) impact the upcoming severe event/season?

There is a slight chatter uptick on Twitter about this time frame. But, just something to watch for now.
