Winter Weather Advisory here for the valleys for 4-8" over the next couple days. Significantly more in the mountains, 2-3' expected, possibly higher in locations that are favorable for WNW flow.

Could get more than 8" in the valleys if the temperatures allow Saturday night into Sunday, but it looks like in the valleys it'll warm up enough to turn to rain.

We are getting 12 inches tonight in east Alabama.

Man if the look the GFS has right now verified with temps about 5-10 degrees or so more cooler. That would be a gnarly snow day.

With a major El Nino ongoing and the fact that high temps around here have remained in the 60s and 70s well into December, I'm certainly not expecting a particularly snowy winter at our elevation...

But with that said, last winter Mother Nature waited until late February to dump a foot of snow on us so who knows?

Ha ha how many winter weenies are on the other forum thinking it’ll happen?

Well as many Gulf lows we've seen so far this Fall, there's gonna be a greater opportunity for a classic Deep South snow event this winter. And not one event either.

12z euro is pretty close to some wintry precip in the southeast.
Time to wishcast lol

Only big hiccup is the upper 40s surface temps haha

00Z Monday NAM. Strong incoming shortwave and possible heavy snow showers at this point. GFS is a tad more pronounced, but both show the same amount of energy Thursday. We'll wait and see.

Hey this actually might bring a dusting and some impacts. This may be the 1st and only measurable snow this season for the southeast
