how verifiable is that report? i mean... 9.5" by 1045 am doesn't really seem plausible.
I guess 1 good thing is had we had the heavy snow temps tonight up here would've dropped close to/below 0. We're already 6-14 as it is, with Bham 11-2. A light snow would've probably knocked 3 deg or so off. @sak The totals given said the NWS verified the 9.5" measurement, not the general public.I think our chance for anything around i20 is gone. Just too dry and the high is really pressing in.

NWS New Orleans says it's a legitimate report from an NWS employee per chat. Here is a link to the latest reports they just put out. https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/wx/afos/p.php?pil=PNSLIX&e=202501212128how verifiable is that report? i mean... 9.5" by 1045 am doesn't really seem plausible.
I'm a bit disappointed at my area Tallapposa County lack of but I think it's awesome for the Gulf Coast. This will go down in history for them. We had our blizzard in 93. It's their turn.I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the Gulf coast, right now
Was Jim Cantore on the Gulf Coast? If he is, odd he is covering a snowstorm on the Gulf Coast and not a hurricane.
That might be the all time record for Florida as well based on what I found yesterday.All-time snowfall records in Mobile and Pensacola! From NWS MOB:
"SNOWFALL RECORDS ARE FALLING!![]()
6.2 inches of snow at Mobile Regional Airport breaks the all-time snowfall record (the 2-day and 1-day records were both broken).
5 inches of snow at Pensacola breaks the all-time record for the Pensacola area.
...and it's still snowing."![]()
