I noticed in Phenix City AL it was 1 inch this morning and now it says 4 inches. What changed??BMX has increased the forecast snow accumulations to between 2 and 5 inches in the winter storm warning counties.
I haven't measured but I think I have 5-6" in my yard and lots of folks around me are reporting measurements in the 5-7" range. I am in a gap now but expecting at least a tiny bit more.10.5 inch snow total reported about 16 miles northwest of LaFayette, LA with more snow to fall. There’s also been several reports of 7-8 inches.

Snow flurries in north east Phenix CityI’m in Phenix City. Dry so far.
it'll be later this afternoon/evening before the snow shields fills in fully, so be a little patient. Plus "possible" doesn't mean guaranteed.National Weather Service just sent this new graphic out...an inch possible in my area. I haven't seen a single snowflake...been watching and waiting all morning. Guess it's taking awhile for the dry air to get saturated?
Forcing from the 700mb front Richard Jacks mentioned. Really wish it was going to reach the ground, but I very much doubt it.Why do I hope we have a blow up of moisture all over AL? lol
I would be happy with flurries at this pointit'll be later this afternoon/evening before the snow shields fills in fully, so be a little patient. Plus "possible" doesn't mean guaranteed.
