Now that snow has been compacted and made wet by the wintry mix we've been having, definitely seeing the weight on the trees and large bushes.

I've got a bit under a tenth of an inch of freezing rain accumulation just south of Decatur, GA. It's interesting though that the HRRR and NAM are all initializing with snow depths (at least around Atlanta) of a LOT lower than actual. They all say less than an inch when there is easily 3-4 inches in places. GFS is closer and definitely shows more freezing rain.

Update from north of Madison, south of Harvest. We've got about 5 inches of snow on the ground in clear areas. It's mixing with tiny sleet now. It was 29 degrees all morning but has risen to 31. Took the dogs for a walk in the woods.

I woke up shocked. I went to bed around midnight. It was still around 40° with warm air aloft. I gave up on anything but sleet and cold rain. We ended up with around 3.5” of snow this morning. So pretty!

that's likely a heavier band where the dynamic/lifting cooling is just enough to overcome melting by the warm nose that is only getting warmer

Warm nose is just blowtorching the surface temps above freezing way north. Expect a melting afternoon.

it would seem the snow is keeping temps down, at least around me. So, I don't think we reach our high. Also, they may cool faster due to residual snow pack.

33 in Hoover. It's precipitating. I think we have sleet & rain. We're higher in elevation so we may be a little colder. At least the snow overperferformed.

Going into the woods was my first thought this morning! Waited for a good downpour and went up to a clearing by the hill near my house and it's was magic

The precipitation should move in soon. That'll probably be rain, though some sleet may mix in.

It appears BMX just dropped the WSW for Tusc & a bunch of other counties. Jeffco is still in it though.
