Still dumping snow here in west blount - BIG pretty flakes. It can do this all day if it likes.

Snowing heavy in southwest Blount where I'm at.

Downtown is about to get hammered with heavy snow. That heavy band is setting up over i20.

*Actually it looks like the heavy band is slightly moving northeast so my area will get hammered a little later

Its still heavy here but it's not big flakes anymore it's just small flakes but a lot of them lol

I just walked outside as the precip is heaviest it has been all night and there is definitely a rain/snow mix at my house now. 29.8 degrees Mod to Heavy Snow/Frz Rain mix

i am 10 miles SE of downtown BHAM in north shelby if you are curious about where that warm nose at 5000 feet is...

with 2 inches already on the ground, i am surprised i havent been upgraded to a WSW

29/28 light east wind. Heavy snow. Visibility less the ¼ mile ( guessing ) because I can barely see the street light that's ¼ mile away.

So far, the rain/junk line vs sn is well to my SW. If anything, it "appears" to be retreating more SW.
Not sure if, or how long, that will hold.
Is the low in the gulf still offshore? I'm guessing yes.
