We may be some of the lucky few. This boundary line seen at the bottom of the heavy returns is moving north fast - and I bet its the rain/snow line and the front of a warm nose. This may not last long.

Mostly moderate snow with sleet mixed in. Just south of Winfield, AL. in Fayette county temp is currently 30 degrees with a dewpoint of 27. About half an inch of mostly sleet and snow currently.

yeah my precip has lightened up a lot but the flakes that are falling are huge. if the precip intensity can pick up it will accumulate fast.

I am watching a remote camera at my house in McCalla and I'm shocked. An hour ago there was nothing and now it looks like we got absolutely dumped on.

yep. i'm between indian springs and 280 and the flakes got normal sized but coming down pretty darn good. everything turning white, even the road (although it may just be falling faster than it is melting at the moment)

Still dumping snow here in west blount - BIG pretty flakes. It can do this all day if it likes.

Observations from the last half-hour seem to show every site in Jefferson County with a temperature between 29-32. Lots of 30-31 readings.

Google Maps traffic reflects significant slowdowns on the interstate system. ALGO traffic cams show the interstates in Birmingham are down to 1 lane in most areas.
