REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

Storms are definitely becoming more discrete and rotation is now evident on several.

Looks like the storms are training over the same area headed NE with little/no Eastward progression. NW-SE oriented line over Mobile Bay could be what eventually affects far SE AL.

That was kind of weird looking deal last night on radar. Had a miniature low-pressure looking swirl coming through Alabama. Got a little windy with heavy rain in Hayden but I don't recall seeing lightning and only heard thunder one time. Passed through within about 30 minutes.

Strong couplet near Alamo, GA now. (Thankfully KJGX is working today).

There are a couple of other areas of weak rotation in that line too. Don’t envy the folks who are having to play whack-a-mole with these warnings today.

These storms are still wreaking havoc and have caused 4 deaths. 2 that (I know of) were caused by falling trees!
Savannah, Ga stay safe!!

At 7:30 AM, parts of of Athens-Clarke County were under a tornado warning. At 11:30 AM, the main part of the squall line reached Athens itself. The line stalled for four hours.

The system has been crazy after it came through Alabama, it’s like it’s making it up as it goes!!

Under a tornado watch now. Doubt we’ll see much this far north but there was a confirmed tornado in Virginia earlier.

I just now heard my first clap of thunder a few minutes ago. Maybe it is divine providence or something like that.

2:11 update, the sun's trying to come out.
