Storms firing in that area right now, and one is already severe warned. Any development in this area is what really needs to be watched as it moves east.

There's been quite a few runs so far that like idea of that supercell in the easternmost part of KY.

I think we see discrete cells. Check out the storm near Cape Girardeau.

there's definitely clearing between the front and the ongoing convection in S/SE IN and N/NW KY, and per the 1630z outlook, it is expected to move northeastward along the ohio river. it'll be interesting to see if it's enough to prime the atmosphere. its worth noting that dewpoints are in the mid-60s just south of the river in southern indiana. this moisture is continuing northward in advance of the front to its west.

It’s tough to tell storm mode when supercells are still in the incipient stage and can take a while to congeal and have one dominant one emerge from a small cluster. Still can’t make a call on the line in MO crossing into IL right now

It’s subtle, but it looks like scattered cells are just beginning to form in the middle of the area of clearing/most favorable parameter space between Evansville and Memphis.
