Just now really ramping up , models areYeah strong El Nino but far from the record breaking strongest ever Mega Godzilla type everyone and their cousin has been hyping about. CPC uses the CFSV2 bias corrected ENSO. The latest keeps it below 2.5
It certainly seems to have plateau'd quite strongly, according to the Nino 3.4 temps graph that was posted earlier in the thread. I'd say this Nino is amongst the strongest in modern times already, but it likely won't reach the +2.8 C monster that 1877 likely reached. I'm guessing it'll remain comparable to the 1982-83, 1997-98, and 2015-16 events by the end of it.Yeah strong El Nino but far from the record breaking strongest ever Mega Godzilla type everyone and their cousin has been hyping about. NOAA today currently toy posted it 2.7 already above on the 3.4 regions at least …. I’m pretty sure the average in the Nino 3.4 is floating around +2.19 C as of today, which is lower than it was a week ago by a solid amount - but it has been fluctuating and it did do this before its last big jump. I’m becoming more trusting of the models hitting the brakes on this thing in the coming months though, it can only go so far.NOAA today currently toy posted it 2.7 already above on the 3.4 regions at least ….
