Winter WX Southern US Winter Storm (Feb 9 - 17)

Good morning everyone. We have about 5-6 inches on the ground at my place in Fayetteville, AR and it still snowing. Roads are covered including interstates but the ARDOT crews are doing an amazing job trying to clear them.

As someone predicted here last night, there is a very clear line where things are bad on West side, but not on the East side. I don't know where that line is exactly, but it's North and West of Madison, AL. I have ice on elevated surfaces (the deck, trees, outdoor furniture) but ground-level surfaces (patio, sidewalk, driveway & streets) are just wet.

Final event total here is just over 3.4" for me, a little ways northeast of downtown Dallas. We got one final round of snow overnight, and I feel pretty satisfied with what I have here. Pretty sure that heavier snow did go northwest and southeast of the Metroplex though. Thankfully I haven't lost power, but seems like a lot of people across the rest of the state aren't as lucky.

Just north of Columbus, MS. We have wet yards and roads. Ice is on the trees, icicles are on the house. No major issues at my house yet though other than my dog constantly wanting to go out when it’s 30° outside. We are in the purple on this so I’m expecting a lot worse today. Lake Charles, LA had two hurricanes, and now has Thundersnow.

I got 36° with a patch of moderate to heavy rain, amazing how tight the gradient always is between cold/wet and major problems. Hopefully precip lightens as temperature falls.

We are all focused on the winter storm and forgot that Florida, Alabama and Georgia have an enhanced outlook for today.
