Significant Tornado Events

Several damage pictures of the BV Supercell, these clearly show that not only the tornado was strong but the storm itself also was, from these pictures to the giant hail reported brings me to one question. Would anyone have by chance a picture of the nearest sounding in that area? since reanalysis clearly doesnt pay enough respect to what this system had.

Possible photo of the Lake Martin EF4 between a lightning flash in Elmore County found by a friend; we’re trying to locate the coords it was taken from and verify whether the lightning flash is real.

Do NOT share this as if this is legitimately the tornado; we are still working on verifying its legitimacy and I’m not 100% confident as of now.

Original source?

The “3/27/2011” in the title is what made this impossible to find.

I think i could've missed this post because I have searched those exact keywords regarding Elmore County and the subtle abbreviation. Would the water tower of sorts there not be easy to find within Elmore County? I'm sure a look at satellite (or older if it was removed somehow) would get that quickly. Can help with geolocation if you haven't already found. I don't mind some 4/27 searching either since you are back too

I’m still holed up in a summer camp dishroom in PA and will be here till August 1st; we’re working on geolocation on Discord and it’s weirdly difficult. Still don’t have an exact match for the tower.

Throwing out a theory that perhaps maybe this photo isn't in Elmore County and could be in a different portion of Tallapoosa or etc, and OP in question just named it that since it got attention over in Elmore most?

Would you not use that app that you can like input code to search for certain things in a area? That would help a bunch imo. Ask Rainbolt LMAO

We checked all of Elmore and are working on Tallapoosa and Chambers. The app that geos structures likely wouldn’t catch this one since it doesn’t appear to exist in any of those three counties.

Considering the water tower in the pic, maybe that could be used to pin down the location? I can't imagine there are that many water towers in the US.

Wow, this is confirmed Lake Martin then!
The amount of media you all have been able to uncover on 4/27/11, specifically this and New Harmony, is astounding. Huge kudos on these efforts. Even though 4/27 occurred in the modern era, at least relative to 74, there were always missing gaps in documentation.

Edit: shoutout to @csx1985 as well!

This specific photo was found by sklz in a Discord server we are all in; all credit on finding the image itself to them. I simply helped theorize where it might’ve been taken from and sent it here to make y’all aware of the find.

74 still kinda fascinates me, feels like the weather community has kinda overlooked it despite its legacy. Probably due to the fact that so much info on it is clearly missing or wasn't well documented.
