Severe Weather Threat May 7-10, 2024

TDS over Frayser, TN. Needs a TOR warning. This is way too big of a population for an unwarned TOR.

Makes me wish I was in NWS Jackson or Birmingham's CWA. It's something else.

Can't take care of their own backyard, much less the rest of their coverage area. Absolutely unacceptable. Another instance of the city being failed.

I’m just one county under you, but I’m under Jackson NWS. Overall, they do an excellent job. I’m not sure if Memphis fell asleep at their desk tonight or what… :(

@TornadoFan17 do you have screenshots of this unwarned TOR?
I did not think to take screenshots on my radar. I know for a fact that multiple areas of rotation and a TDS on CC was shown on Ryan Hall's stream, though.

A strong tornado late at night in Alabama or Mississippi usually never ends well .
Yeah I’m in Tuscaloosa county and still awake out of fear or surprise earlier than anticipated storms. They have been acting too crazy for my liking

Even though they rated the Smithville tornado an EF5 they certainly half a**ed the survey.
Definitely. It should have had a more extensive survey and assessment. Heck, TornadoTalk's Nelson Tucker did a better write up/assessment than they did.

They treated it as if it was some small gust of wind. It had some of the most incredible damage I have ever seen. I bet that tornado topped winds of 330 mph.

Yeah. They were basically like sorry for your loss. Next.
