Never thought I'd see the day. I always thought the drought would be broken by a tornado with a lot of coverage (like Mayfield, Greenfield, etc), and not one like Enderlin which mostly flew under the radar (figuratively, of course). Also didn't expect it to happen in North Dakota. But it did! Amazing to see the science at play here.
That 1999 Moore-esque Clear slot is such a good indicator that a violent tornado is ongoing.View attachment 46945
The tornado around the time it was inflicting EF5 damage.
The forward lean on that thing is absolutely diabolical.-pic

As bad as it was on the human side of things, I’m thankful a heavily populated city didn’t get hit by this thing. However losing one life is too much. The forward lean on that thing is absolutely diabolical.

have to wonder if one of those gets upgraded. Most likely would be Plevna in relation to the tree damage it ensued. Awesome catch even being so far away. Definitely a lot stronger than EF3.The May 18 KS beast had it too on probably all of the "EF3" wedges. What with keeping my distance I didn't get a definitive view of the Cullison-Iuka tornado, but you can see the clear slot and associated structure toward bottom center of this frame grab from my driver's side-view GoPro looking north from US 54/400 a bit west of Pratt.
