Severe Weather Threat June 15-23

I'm very happy that office has been apparently going through extremely extensive analysis of that outbreak even months later, that makes me wonder how many other high-end events that offices didn't dive for deep into could have been perhaps updated or upgraded, but I guess that's an office vs office thing. Big kudos to FGF and the engineers for really spending some time analyzing things

I’ll just say this:

It’s been 12 years…12 YEARS and 4,358 DAYS since Moore, Oklahoma experienced the last EF-5 on May 20, 2013.

This is a massive day for science, I mean seriously. But we should be admonishing people to not celebrate, but appreciate the science at hand, and respect the people who’s lives are effected.

In softer terms, EF-5’s still exist!

The 2025 Enderlin, EF-5, man. Crazy.

It would appear the Enderlin, ND EF-5 upgrade is solely contextual based, which is extremely similar to the El Reno EF-5 in 2011. The highest rated structure was a home rated EF4/180mph, which was upgraded from EF3. It is also remarkable how many experts they got involved with this survey, kudos to the NWS for really honing in on getting the rating correct. You have to wonder if any other tornadoes from the decade will be posthumously upgraded after today, but only time will tell. I’m still having a hard time believing this actually happened and don’t really have much else to say, so here’s a few notable photos.

I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am, the damage was too violent contextually for this to be overlooked as an EF3 for them to actually rate it an EF5 not at 205 but 210+ means we are looking at one of the strongest tornadoes to ever touch this planet. I can safely say and a lot of others can too who were tracking that day. We tracked our first EF5. I think this is going to go a long term with science and like yall said above this hopefully will change the way we rate tornadoes going forward

It’s really over? The EF5 drought is actually over?

And it happened on my first big thread…
