Severe Weather Threat - January 8th-9th, 2024

I think storm mode is shutting down the tornado potential across the board so far…
The storms are just giving you time to indulge on your favorite energy drinks, coffee or whatever highly caffeinated beverages you prefer since the primary threat is going to be in the late PM to early AM hours.

Really worried about folks along the Gulf Coast letting their guard down as they go to bed tonight. As instability moves northward with the LLJ, there will probably be storms that go from weak and elevated to undergoing tornadogenesis rather quickly

That's exactly what I'm worried about. Even a high end EF1 going through a mobile home park with most of the residents asleep would yield disastrous results.

I’d like to point out the giant blob of messy rain showers out in front of everything…is that not gonna put a damper on things regardless of discrete development or not? I’m curious because every other time that has happened in my 3 years of tracking it’s always demolished tornado probabilities…

It’s stuff that’s currently passing over the greatest risk zones

There's always the chance (however remote it may seem) that such a thing might not come to pass "this time"...

That is EXACTLY what MOB said!

“0 to 100 quickly”

Dixie Alley has shown several times that she doesn’t care about those “rules”… lol
