Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 4/5/17-4/6/17

Loos like some isolated storms intensifying west of KFFC; could be the beginnings of an evening round there if they hold together

Cumulus field is rapidly developing across West AL ahead of a dryline. Convergence is stronger due to backed low-level flow across East AL from morning storms. Thunderstorm development likely in the next 1-2 hours. If this backed low-level flow stays in place, the tornado threat across East AL will increase substantially this afternoon and evening.

Now it's time to echo watch from KGWX, I suppose. That or just watch from my bedroom window as clouds blow up. Very warm and windy here, has been sunny but now the cumulus field is casting lots of shadows here and there.

Actually, wow, it is QUITE warm and muggy out, 79/66 according to surface data from Jasper.

I wonder if the storm trying to get going west of Nashville will end up being the first true supercell of the day... or at least of round 2.

Right over my area.

The storm we've been tracking from AL to SW Georgia, where it produced the wedge, is now in central GA, and appears to be strengthening yet again. Appears a lot more organized than the HP mess we saw earlier.

Isolated cells are firing across SC and behind the complex in GA and parts of AL. Significant ramp-up in the number of warnings is probably forthcoming.

Other than 1 storm trying to get going a little west of Atlanta, I don't see any cells firing in Alabama or Georgia behind that first complex. Yet.

Dryline approaching Alabama....... From extreme NW corner, down SW ...... expect storms to fire along that over next couple hours.

There is another cell around Troy and a few more intensifying across north GA. Not really that significant yet but more than just that one little straggler that passed by KBMX a few hours ago lol.
