What are confluence bands?View attachment 35378
Now showing cells popping up on confluence bands in the OWS, and good gosh the parameters are still insane. Not much of a downtrend.
That's basically what it does to things in the Plains most often. There will be a broken line of a few showers or it will merge everything into a linear system immediatelyZero idea what happened with the NAM 3KM on that run lol. I’m not qualified enough to say it, but I want to throw that run out
boundaries where low-level winds converge, which creates a rising motion and can serve as a focal point for storms in the absence of strong forcing for ascent; you often see them in the higher-end supercellular events in the south where you don't have a strongly-forced QLCS.What are confluence bands?
SEE? See how storms are "afraid" of the GA/AL border? Things were speeding along and then put on the brakes like it saw a state trooper. Weird..... and commonplace from what I remember.Apparently this run is saying "your convection means nothing to me."

Maybe the second day 2 outlook if things straighten out. After seeing these rather confusing runs, I doubt we see a HIGH at 06z
Says the person hundreds of miles away from Dixie LOLFV3 initiating. Can't wait to see the entire deep south painted purple with UH tracks
I lived in the north Atlanta metro for 6 years and felt the same way.SEE? See how storms are "afraid" of the GA/AL border? Things were speeding along and then put on the brakes like it saw a state trooper. Weird..... and commonplace from what I remember.
There's already a precedent for that: the D2 High for 4/7/2006 first came out on one of the later D2 updates.Maybe the second day 2 outlook if things straighten out.
If it’s broyles…. ? lolThere's already a precedent for that: the D2 High for 4/7/2006 first came out on one of the later D2 updates.
Of course, whether (let alone when) the SPC decides to pull the trigger on a 5/5 High is ultimately up to them to decide. We shall wait and see...
Could you post it?00z HRRR is a major outbreak both tomorrow and Saturday. Absolutely insane run.
Doesn’t matter why?The hrrr initiates morning convection because it models a extremely weak to non existent EML, and obviously given the abundant moisture and instability plus the forcing in the area.
It actually makes plenty of sense that it does this, although it seems to matter less than a dead cockroach in the corner.
Because it’s unlikely that there won’t be an EML I think.Doesn’t matter why?
