Severe Weather Threat 12.26-12.29.2024

I'm not working at BMX, but I feel like their approach is go with SVR's and hit the more robust circulations. Action Jackson believes in a blanket approach which may work best tonight. Just different philosophies.
We’re under Jackson NWS here in Lowndes County though. That’s why it’s surprising!

the environment in MS was more volatile too, so i think both approaches are appropriate in the circumstances.

That is my bad! I saw the warning from BMX in chat and didn't put it together that it was Lowndes, MS being mentioned. For some reason my brain auto processed Pickens lol. Apologies.

Perhaps. The environment in western Alabama is very favorable for significant straight-line wind gusts and QLCS tornadoes.
It's possible we could see a lull before potential re-intensification in central AL as instability continues to move into the area.

There’s a Lowndes County (and also Choctaw County), Alabama too because that isn’t confusing at all. :)

By my calculations, the NWS first warned that TX Coast Tornado/Supercell at 12:57 CST. She lifted right around 4:45 CST if there was no breaks in the track/successful cycles. Would 3 hours 48 minutes be a record for OTG time?
