Severe Weather Threat 12.26-12.29.2024

…at 54 fatalities I feel we have been lucky this year with 1700 tornadoes. 54 is tragic but a lot of violent or strong tornadoes in rural or country areas like port Arthur for example yesterday.
yeah we really dodged a bullet yesterday, the storm of the day spent most of its life over water or unpopulated areas

NWS Jackson surveys so far.
The Bude tornado survey continues. The track so far is at least 20 miles into a nearby county.

A riding academy in Harpersville had a lot of damage to most structures on the property; no casualties fortunately but there was a very small brief CC drop nearby Harpersville as the line went through. Not sure if it will even be surveyed but curious if straight line wind or assorted with that brief couplet/TDS. Was there even a severe warning with that line segment at the time? I know BMX was super stingy with tornado warnings for brief line couplets but there weren't even severe warnings for a lot of that section of the line as it went through

Port Arthur area beast up to ">48.6 miles" in path length, from Chambers County, TX to Cameron Parish, LA. The current summary says it began "just east" of Trinity Bay, but based on the fact that the TDS appeared instantly upon the couplet reaching shore, it's highly likely it began as a tornadic waterspout over the bay, if not the same tornado that affected Dickinson and possibly as far back as Hillcrest/Algoa.

They had no special weather statement or severe thunderstorm warning out for the line that caused damage in Randolph county.
