I'm looking at several chaser livestreams that are on the Pontiac storm, and from both looking at and listening to chaser commentary, the cell in question seems to be having trouble with a fairly high cloud base.

Surface Obs from SPC Mesoanalysis show 79/65 at Pontiac which is certainly a spread (not insurmountable, but could explain some of those issues).

EDIT: Well, at least they showed. The page refreshed as soon as I typed this and now shows 68/64 with winds out of the northwest which is goofy. Probably because of outflow from the storm itself. Meanwhile, Kankakee now says 70/64 with winds out of the SE.

Parameters don't seem to be that high in Oklahoma (except for the far East side) surprised about the tornado watch honestly.

Tight couplet in Del Rio now. Scan is still 15k feet up. Is there anyone chasing it?

You generally want LCL heights to be 800 meters or less for the updraft to reach the surface. The Td/T spread would suggest higher LCL's right about 1000 meters. Not far off, but needs some work.

Yeah, it's elevated as all get out right now. Has to be the LCL heights. Reminds me of some of the storms from May 16 last year, 50kft with a pronounced easterly component and intermittent surface rotation.

Emington, IL supercell now has tops up to 53,000 feet.

That Del Rio storm in TX is tagged for 80 mph winds and tennis ball sized hail. It might just be my imagination, but looping through on reflectivity and seeing the orientation of the new warning on it, might be a right-mover as well.

Some chasers are about to bail on that warned storm in IL and head west…….

Gotta think something is going on with the mid-level dynamics in IL that is keeping this storm from dropping a tornado. It's discrete in the heart of the OWS and just isn't really dropping anything substantial (tornado wise)
