Tor incoming just southwest of Corinth. It's had a TDS for a while. Not sure what NWS is waiting for.

My back and forth thought process for this area has been


"i think a window for prefrontals will be there"
"nah, I can't see them getting going"

And look at the band firing now....guess maybe that sleeper call could be right if one of these cells organise. I will not rule ut a significant tornado from this activity.

looks like there are two separate areas of rotation within that warning. one west of kossuth (not a town name I would've expected to find in mississippi) and one northeast of ripley

Here's the 00z sounding over Huntsville. Ample wind shear in place and while the instability values are not eye-popping, they don't need to be. There's enough.

It's going to be a long night for folks in NE MS thru north Alabama and south central TN.

Nothing concerning on velocity with the prefrontal storms headed for me right now...but yeah, i'm paying close attention.

Hopefully the clustering can hold them back. I said earlier this morning with such intense low level shear setting in, that that area would be a sneaky dangerous zone with any organized prefrontal. With lack of stronger inflow, that may decrease the tor threat to some extent but i wouldn't discount these out for a good bit.

I said “so far”. I expected at least several confirmed tornadoes by now within the qcls at least.
