Severe Weather 2026

Major fire near Woodward, Oklahoma too.

I seen 85/30 observed in Woodward and was like "if anything gets going, it's gonna be probably more major than the Beaver fire"

That's a extremely dry airmass combined with 60 mph wind gusts. very dangerous.

Hey all, I have started a dedicated thread on the ongoing destructive wildfires if anyone wants to migrate over there.

Not impressed with the severe threat Saturday for AL. Mean flow is very zonal and as a result, there is almost insignificant directional shear. If the wave were to come in more amplified and start developing a cyclone along the frontal boundary, I'd be more interested.

Large, broad warm sector but really doesn't appear to be anything much tornadic-wise right now.

Some strengthening is occurring with some of the storms moving through central Alabama. The storm over Tallapoosa county has shown some signs of rotation as it rides along the stalled front. I’m doubtful it will do anything given the low overall helicity and meager low level lapse rates.
