Severe Weather 2025

NWS Fort Worth have really done a shameless job at covering up two or potentially even three unwarned tornadoes from that QLCS. It can't be more clear a tornado took place in the region with CC and velocity supporting it.

Monitoring Thursday for maybe some Mid-Atlantic QLCS whackamole. Carolinas may see smth early morning but threat is still uncertain. We will see!

Tomorrow may need a 2% tor risk in NE TX/NW LA. Strong effective shear too......temp/dew spreads should prevent more efficient tornado production but wouldn't rule one or two out.

So, did we ever get any closure on the Fort Worth QLCS cluster? There were clearly one or more tornadoes from it - is FWD just sticking with saying it didn't happen?

That was our closure. It's booked off as a straight line wind event unfortunately. What a shame. Lost a bit of respect for them.
Oh, yikes. That's really unfortunate - there have been plenty of other instances where offices just said "oh, yeah, whoops" or sent survey teams out the next day. QLCS tornadoes are tricky and still remain very hard to warn on - there's no reason for them to get their own pants in a twist over it. Pretty disappointing response that reminds me a bit of North Platte's incident last year.

One or two i could excuse them for as they had no clear signs of a tornado but the main one that went thru southern Fort Worth SHOULD'VE been warned. They made a mountain out of a molehill for NO reason whatsoever

I'm pretty sure this is a recurring issue with NWS Fort Worth, I know there have been other years where they have missed QLCS tornadoes. Albeit this one is the worst for the sole reason of them denying its existence despite indisputable evidence. Probably one of the more embarrassing demonstrations from a nws office.

Indeed. HRRR has been consistent with one particular supercell producing UH tracks. We will see.
