Not sure if anyone shared it already or if jt is ok to share here, but 11 years ago yesterday and today marked a
historic flash flooding event across the Alabama and far western Florida Gulf Coasts. Ironically, this was one of the cases in which convection across the Gulf Coast prevented moisture from moving northwards into parts of the SE and contributing to severe weather. This came on the heels of a slow-moving cold front that had sparked severe weather (including a high risk on 4/28) across the southeast.
