Severe Weather 2025

Still indications of at least some severe threat around May 1st for the Midsouth and Southeast. Still too much uncertainty to see anything more specific at this time, but healthy May thermodynamics combined with a possible weak trough ejection could definitely produce an environment favorable for at least a low-end all-hazards threat across parts of the South.

12z GFS is scary with another big trough dipping in after this one's gone, but after the scary it's complete nonsense. Shows a trough retrograding back to the west at about 240 hours out and it goes from the northeastern side of Quebec... all the way to the northern plains... within 60 hours. Absolutely insane Fujiwhara-esque movement, and just is not going to happen lol
