Severe Weather 2025

Dang, no action for us here in the Great Lakes.
It's certainly still on the table, but hard to nail down specific geography. CIPS seems to heavily favor the Plains for long-range severe probs, but with a signal that strong it's still probably onto something.

The sites glitches have been so bad this week it’s almost unusable
It's happened a few times before, and it ended up being some kind of server hiccup I think, but can't remember the specifics. Might be worth reaching out to the admins if it persists.

First time poster, long time lurker here!

Eric Webber has been all over the pickup in severe weather across the Great Plains region late this month and it is showing up on modeling too. As Clancy alluded to above, CIPS has been favoring the region for a bit now and the signal seems to be increasing. Here’s some tweets from Eric for reference.

Reed Timmer has also been homing in on this period now:

Wondering what the chances of severe will be east of that moving forward if any.
FWIW, what I’ve observered on models the last several days, the troughs seem to push from the South/Central Plains region into the Upper Midwest riding along the East Coast ridging. Even James Spann said on his Weather Extreme briefing this afternoon that rain totals for central AL would be below 2 inches through the 26th, which would be below average for this time of the month given how active it can be.

The past few years have had a quiet early-mid April.
