NWS North Platte's hiring process
There's only one thing I can even say at this point.
Nobody is ever going to trust this office ever again. And for good reason.
There's without a doubt going to be the biggest backlash the NWS has ever seen in possibly years or decades.

Haven't been on here in a while. I'm probably one of the most pro-NWS people in this community, but I have a couple of questions I want answered about tonight. A toddler could tell you there was a TOG.
What gets me the most mad is the SVSs on those storms that clearly had winds over 80-90mph AFTER they screwed up the tornado warnings.

Not sure which is worse, the incident with the Arkansas tornado emergency a couple years back, or this. I would say this is worse since there was actually something on the ground and structures were hit. I hope this is a wake up call for all the other NWS’s in the country to take this stuff very seriously. You get all these degrees for meteorology and you can’t put a polygon around where lives are going to be affected? It’s inexcusable, also relating that there were chasers in the vicinity who I’m sure reported the tornado. Like I said, I hope this is a wake up call for all the other offices and for this one, to TAKE. THIS. SERIOUSLY. Anyways that’s my rant. Hopefully this will never happen again.
