This far inland, did see gusts to 45 in the forecast for today, dropping to 30 tomorrow onwards. There are Wind Advisories in effect but nothing gusting to hurricane force.

Looks like a tornado in progress in the city limits of Valdosta GA currently.

The one near Valdosta is concerning, that's the largest city in that part of Georgia.

Perfect timing for KVAX to succumb to interference, but by the looks of the CC drop on KTLH, doesn't seem great

It's too close to the KVAX radar to use that CC but if you look from KTLH yeah big CC drop.

Looks like there was a TOG before it even hit Valdosta, with a clear-air debris ball visible on reflectivity, which tracked with an (albeit noisy) CC profile as it moved through the east side of the city.

If it stays on that track, it could end up affecting the area near Adel, which was hit by an EF3 during the 21 January 2017 outbreak.

I’m surprised the SPC has not upgraded to slight risk and issued a Tornado Watch for north Florida and South Georgia.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM EST FOR NORTH
CENTRAL LOWNDES COUNTY...

At 319 PM EST, a confirmed tornado was located near Valdosta, moving
north at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This tornado will be near...
Valdosta and Moody Air Force Base around 325 PM EST.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Barretts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

If a tornado or other severe weather is spotted, report it to the
National Weather Service or your local nearest law enforcement agency
who will send your report. This act may save lives of others in the
path of dangerous weather.
