I’m surprised the SPC has not upgraded to slight risk and issued a Tornado Watch for north Florida and South Georgia.
Same!

I don't know how these graphics are generated but it's very weird how often they do this, where they list places that I don't think are even actual incorporated towns rather than the city of >50,000 people it's currently affecting.

I'm guessing it's got sharp cutoffs based on the GIS data, like how here the geographical center of Valdosta is just outside of the polygon.

Footage from Valdosta. Large, maybe MV tornado that passed thru the east side.

Yeah I'm sure it's a technical thing, it just makes the graphics less informative than they could be, which is a shame since they're a good way of presenting warning info.

TAE seems to be letting the Valdosta warning go. Unrelated, but the structure of these storms is making it particularly difficult to pin down features with how messy it ends up looking on velocity and CC.

Gonna throw out there that these sneaky setups are beyond fascinating to me. If I'm not mistaken, Valdosta is barely inside the MRGL risk area!
Seconded! Proximity to the low and the high levels of 3CAPE are probably important factors here, though I'm sure there's more.

..20Z Update...
The Marginal Risk has been expanded westward into a larger portion
of southwest GA and the northeast FL Panhandle, based on the
progression of the surface warm front and presence of small but
rotating cells moving northward across the region
. See MCD 106 for
more information. A portion of the Marginal Risk has been trimmed
from south FL, but there remains some chance of a strong storm or
two late tonight with isolated hail/wind potential across far south
FL and the Keys.

The Marginal Risk has been expanded slightly northward along the CA
coast, based on observational and guidance trends regarding the
areas most prone to low-topped convection within a strongly sheared
environment.
