Severe Weather 2023

Glimpsed the Campton Hills/Plato/South Elgin twins, unfortunately video is pretty much worthless. Was never able to stop and tripod like I was for Keota, and the roads became lined with trees seconds after I caught a view. Super jealous of Matt Zuro and Jimmy Sieniki's shots.

Still, this is why I stayed on the storm after following it from Davis Junction for over an hour and a half without it seeming much inclined to do anything.

Cool pics! First an EF4 and now twins - seems it's been a really good year for you.

After a relatively quiet start to the Michigan severe summer season, it seems like there's been an uptick in tornadic weather this month. Currently have a new tornado warning in the Thumb now. I wasn't paying attention to the weather for today so I didn't realize there was a potential at all for this kind've weather around here.

Meanwhile in Mississippi... an observed warning out of literally nowhere. And OF COURSE, KGWX is down.

Yep and leave it for it to be in Monroe County. Johnny how many tornadoes have passed close to you this year? 4 now. 1 in February, 1 in March, 1 in June, and now 1 in July.

Familiar with the story of Roy Sullivan? I guess Mother Nature felt the lightning thing had been done already and someone needed to have a bunch of close encounters with tornadoes instead...

Also, someone tell those tornado-warned storms in Michigan to chill out.

edit: Oh, and we have yet another tornado-warned storm aimed directly at the Kansas City Metro. Can 2023 just stop already?

Yep, been watching that carefully...

Even if we don't get tornadoes, still have 80mph winds approaching

That warning was a glitch wasn’t it? It never showed on RadarScope, the Jackson home page never showed it, the BMX home page showed tornado warning in the legend, but didn’t on the map. I looked at the radar and didn’t see anything that indicated tornado. SPC doesn’t show a report.
