about time to wake up this thread , we are getting close to fall severe weather season... our secondary severe weather season... already seeing signs of fantasy troughs starting to show up. plus the main jet starting to head back south as fall season progresses. be intersting see what a third la nina holds for us

EHI's are approaching 4 now over North MS. Just have to watch if a QLCS develops as well. It's not a great threat but it's there.

WI wasn't even close to any SPC outlooked area (other than general thunder) today, yet this was a localized outbreak of at least 4 or 5 brief QLCS tornadoes. Stayed at work 45 minutes late until the last warning expired for the Madison media market. Our met at first assumed they'd warned for a cold air funnel.

SPC's last few 4-8 outlooks have mentioned they expect western troughing to develop; but the antecedent cold surface high over the East/Gulf should preclude quality moisture return, at least initially. Hard to say when/if the thermodynamics might become supportive of a more substantial threat.
