Instability seems to be way better than forecasted. I recall a few days back mid level lapse rates/temperatures seemed inadequate. That isn’t the case today. We’ve got 2000 J/KG SBCAPE working on shore as well.

HRRR shows a lot of UH streaks across South Louisiana…affecting areas hard hit by Hurricane Ida just a few months ago.

The Deweyville supercell has produced another tornado west of DeQuincy, LA. Developing supercells further east in Louisiana are beginning to show signs of rotation as well.

Here's a continuation of that spectacular tornado footage taken near Orange, TX earlier. If you pay close attention, you can see a vehicle aloft being thrown by the tornado.

In additional to the super cellular storms ahead of the QLCS, I suspect the squall line will be spitting out tornadoes. Lake Charles sounding is indicating lots of spinny storms are possible.
Pretty sure Mauriceville, TX just got hit by a QLCS tornado. Looks like a small TDS popped up for a few scans. Just a SVR warning so far though.

Great eye. I completely missed that.
Another TDS NE of Deweville, TX just off of LA State Highway 12. Still no tornado warning from Lake Charles.

A tornado outbreak is currently happening in Louisiana. There is a confirmed tornado headed towards Lake Charles regional airport.

Not even a severe thunderstorm warning for a spin-up east of Rosepine, LA. Starting to show subtle hints of a CC drop.
Yeah that's on the ground. Or at least was at one point.

My take away…models have severely under estimated instability with this system. Keep that in mind going forward.

I suspect as things destabilize across South Central and more so SELA, there should be additional development of pre-frontal super cells.
