Severe Threat - Feb 27-28th, 2024

That one came dangerously close to Yellow Springs; my favorite small town in Ohio.
I go up there to hike frequently. Gorgeous place. It seems the Miami Valley is really working its magic on these storms this morning, unfortunately.

The tornado that formed near Springfield and Harmony appears to still be ongoing. Definitely did some damage near South Vienna.

And now these same areas that saw severe weather/tornadoes yesterday are seeing snow this morning. Crazy! But I remember something like this happening before a few years ago.

Damage near Springfield is major. At least high-end EF2:

West Jefferson damage looks pretty bad too, but not as bad as Springfield:

Damage to buildings, hangars, airplanes, and gates reported at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton/Riverside:

One of my brothers-in-law is in the Air Force and was stationed there when my wife and I went to his last promotion in January, 2020, shortly before the COVID lockdowns hit.
Yeah I used to live right by the base. This is the second tornado to touch down there. The 2019 Beavercreek EF3 actually touched down on base property, but didn’t start destroying structures until it entered nearby housing.
