Thanks I just noticed surface based capes are rapidly improving across southern arkansas, the MS Delta, and Northern LA.......Its amazing how quickly the atmosphere is recovering. We are sitting at 55 degrees in Oxford, MS with a rapidly destabilizing airmass just to our southwest.

What are you seeing in Oxford now?

What we're seeing over you is ugly and worrisome.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself there. Or anywhere.

Completely agree. Godspeed to all of you down there and hopefully there will not be any further loss of life. My fear is that the roughly 150K across Alabama that remain without power will not be able to get life saving warnings.

Gonna be a long day and evening. Tornado warning still back at the MS/LA border.

Baron Tornado Index of 9.3 on Jasper storm. First storm of the afternoon and it's already popping crazy numbers.

"EXITING INTO
GEORGIA BY 6 AM"

Okay. that statement by BMX has confused the heck out of me, because FFC has the weather exiting NW suburbs by 1am..

Sounds right...the forecast is for this to congeal into a NE-SW oriented QLCS...so it'll clear ATL before it clears southeast Alabama...

Sun is shining bright and it's gotten pretty windy here.

Its clouded back up here thanks to our proximity to that line in TN, but its still warm, muggy and windy.

Warm, muggy, breezy, and starting to get "the feeling" here in Marietta, GA.

The sun isn't helping 1 bit. Everyone strap on. It's gonna be a rough ride til these storms pass.

Anybody know when FFC's 18z sounding will be available?

Yep. Finally got it. Looks almost just as bad as 12z. Not quite as much turning.
