Looking at radar trends, I could really see N AL caught under some rain for longer than was originally forecasted, lowering our overall threat.

Its like Fred is saying, however. If the MCS is weakening, we may not be dealing with any large cold pools and the remaining rain/cloud cover may not really be a big issue, especially as it gets into a more capped environment. So I wouldn't just assume that yet.

Yup, I remember that day well. I'm a tad north of Jasper - had several close calls that day. The Parrish tornado was the strongest tornado to affect Walker County since the infamous Veterans Day Outbreak of 2002. As much as severe weather fascinates me I'm not looking forward to having to deal with tomorrow's batch...

Did they actually get a ground survey team in there yet? I'm surprised they even _started_ rating yesterday's tornadoes, since today's storms are still in progress. Seems like they'd hold off on the surveys until calmer weather.

I have never seen numbers that high. I especially haven't seen numbers that high over such a large area.

I've seen them that high, just not with 2000+ Cape and a veered flow......

Add that the 0-1 km values are in the 400-600 range. If the instability creeps in, we're looking at a violent day.

been a rough night here guys and its not likely over as new storms are forming tomy sw and expected tomove through thearea later,hopefully they will be less severe but in this setup there is no way to know.....
