Thursday's Texas tornado rated EF2, 8.65-mile path. Followed almost immediately by an 8.41-mile EF1 path...I wonder if they will eventually be connected.

Looks like some debarking there in a couple of those pics. Definitely would have been bad if it directly hit some homes.

This tornado was officially rated a high-end EF1. Can someone please explain how mostly debarked trees is only high-end EF1 damage?

It’s because WFOs aren’t on the same page about tree damage. Some have caught on to the newer more liberal tree scale, and others haven’t. I guess they didn’t get the memo. This would be a high-end EF2 or low EF3 if it were to be surveyed by BMX.
