Severe WX May 2019 Plains Severe Event

Velocities are decreasing rapidly

Yep. Absolutely a positive trend. Let's hope it continues to choke and die completely out an stay that way.

We know it was way up in EF5 territory based on radar, but it's so hard to get uncontested >EF3 DIs as we have seen. This one, if it did hit anything capable of leveling, probably did so.

Local mets are talking about a second rotation that may have taken a more eastward turn towards downtown, but they're having trouble picking it out on radar. Still very, very cautious about it, though.

Not often you see a textbook supercell crossing southern New Jersey but there's one now. Those cells in northeastern PA could cause some problems for the NYC area on their current track if they hold together.

Rather significant signature a few minutes ago on that cell near Haddam, KS as well. Falling apart a bit with a storm merger in progress now.

Tornado warning in northern New Jersey. Tracking toward Newark and NYC eventually.

That storm in southern New Jersey has tightened back up and probably needs a warning again.

Debris still raining out of the sky out of the cell that dropped that now long gone big one.

Tornado warned again. Looks decently linear but definitely wrapping NE Kansas City

Yikes. Extensive damage a minute ago on KMBC. Looks like mostly sliders blown off their foundations, but saw some wind rowing and pretty significant tree damage.
