Severe WX March 29-30, 2022 Severe Event

Hattiesburg, MS is now under a tornado warning too, though I don't see much on radar there.

Spotter Network shows at least several chasers in and around that city. We'll probably end up getting quite a few reports out of that.

If you're talking about the one that went by Amory it's headed right towards before or my mom lives right now
Nope I’m looking at a separate circulation to the south with no warning that’s headed towards the radar site. Strong CC drop and couplet now. They’re dropping the ball.

That took waaaaaay to long. It was on the ground for a while and had a much stronger signature than the Amory circulation. Not sure how they missed it.

Isn't this the second time in the dual-pol area that a TDS has been observed ridiculously close to the KGWX site? If I recall correctly a hook went right over it on 4/27/11 too, but fortunately wasn't producing at the time (I believe that eventually became the Haleyville, AL EF3).

The Aberdeen tornado actually had a really tiny pink debris ball signature there for a second. I think this was a small but intense tornado. It takes quite a bit of debris high in the air for that to happen.F1F5699C-2B83-4AD9-ABE8-4383394A5744.png

I don't know if it shows up on your map but the radar itself is right beside a place they call Wise Gap. I have driven by

Yeah that's a different circulation and a lot stronger. The one I was looking at has spread out. It was in a much tighter rotation when it was near Amory but it was not as far south as that one

Strong but broad circulation moving into Hattiesburg. Even if there’s nothing on the ground, that’s gonna cause some wind damage.

GWX is a tornado magnet, gets hit nearly every event; flanked by two tornadoes in the same storm less than a mile from the radar site on 4/13/19 even
