In the worst case this might end up being another Bassfield/Soso-type event. In all fairness tonight's storms are definitely messier/less discrete, but it's still possible, and that's got me worried a bit...New circulation might be forming back near Midnight. IF that produces that's basically the worst scenario you could ask for because it'll be right on the same path.
Wow! That snuck up on us. That's awful for the current search and rescueAnother Rotation over Silver City where the tornado just went through.
Yeah I mean this was really the fear, that we'd get this type of situation where the parameters really ramped up right around nightfall and supported a strong/violent tornado threat. Not a massive outbreak of OWS supercells but it only takes one. That cell is still ridiculously unimpeded, in a strengthening LLJ with slightly backed surface flow; in this enviro getting a strong meso up and going is the big problem, so this thing could keep going for a while now that it's established
Yeah it's really eerily similar to that situation unfortunatelyLet's hope and pray that this doesn't end up being like the twin tornadoes that hit the Bassfield-Soso area on Easter 2020!
