Severe WX March 23-25th, 2023

Per Brad Travis on WAFF the circulation on the Tor warned storm came right through our area just south of St Florian. Wind was really bad and the roar was concerning. No damage at my house I am aware of… hopefully it was above us and didn’t touch down

The thermodynamic environment and VAD analysis support a strong/violet tornado potential into north Alabama with this supercell.

There are copious amounts of streamwise vorticity in the lowest 0.5 km. Hence the rapid violet signature on the current tornado.

Yeah, and Hackleburg and Phil Campbell are likely right in the path of it.

Lord have mercy, please don't let it hit Hackleburg.

It’ll be interesting to see what the cell looks like when it gets NE of the radar

Certainly not impossible, but once this one dies, it’s going to have a lot of work to do to recycle. The inflow region is in really bad shape, with tons of storm mergers coming.
There are storm mergers occurring and will govern the ceiling of additional tornadoes. But the background environment is more than supportive. With the copious low level streamwise vorticity, it won't take much to cycle and produce.

I'm absolutely sick and heartbroken about what has happened in my state tonight. We are always in Amory - my daughter was born there even. :(

Been years since I've been there for work but it is truly heartbreaking. I think it may have missed the Middle School but the HS was unfortunately extremely close. :(
