January 23-25th Winter Wx

MEG's already below freezing at the surface. Cold bulge pushing down the river.

a bunch of rain here in frisco tx
Trust me when I say your cold air is almost there. I hope for your sake you get a changeover to sleet or snow and not just rain into the coming cold.

36 on my wx station in Tuscumbia.
I noticed the pinpoint forecast for the Lauderdale's far NW corner is actually different from everyone else. The far NW corner shows the area will remain below freezing, or might reach 33F/0.5C, with no rain changeover, as the official Lauderdale Co forecast states, expected. Still it says 1F/-17.5C. I guess Huntsville NWS didn't want to forecast =/<0F/-18C after the official stations managed to remain above the last 2 snowstorms when the surroundings suggested they should've fallen below.

Seems like the models overdid the freezing rain and sleet? Or has the warm nose significantly weakened which was causing the sleet and freezing rain. That or the its misclassified on precipitation depiction.

Freezing line is advancing southward, and along with it, frozen precip. Not sure about the time frame, but Dallas will be getting into the weeds here soon.

Looks at 00z HRRR. It has the right idea and in line with my thinking. I'm not convinced that Monroe County or Northeast MS will have a switch over to a cold rain especially considering the cold air is already pouring southward. Highest freezing rain totals might end up extending more into Itawamba and Monroe Counties as well.
