So does anyone see anything coming up for Ida that is a limiting factor?

Unfortunately, it looks like the reminants of Ida could affect the same areas of western middle Tennessee affected by flash flooding last weekend with more heavy rain early next week.
That got me wondering, since all of that water eventually ended up in the Mississippi. Don't know much hydrology, but it looks like most of that crest has passed. A small bit of luck for the levee system, anyway.

This river-flooding link might be useful to watch as Ida nears, comes in, and passes through, though. (Mobile version.)

Category 4?

The 18z Euro for 8/29/21 shows the pressure at 938mb as Ida approaches the offshore area of La/Ms.

This translates to a Category 4 storm with winds in the 131-155mph (per Saffir-Simpson). The New Orleans levee system may face a very serious test with Ida. Hopefully, the eye of the storm passes to the right of the city - or even better, fizzles down to a Cat. 1 before landfall.

New Orleans has had almost 2 decades to fix & prepare for another Katrina-like scenario. Let's hope they have. If not Ida, there is another hurricane in the future sure to swamp N.O.
