Hurricane Ida

There's a few tornado warnings out atm for Alabama, including one for a confirmed tornado that did some damage not far from Mobile.

Three rotating cells moving up just west of Birmingham metro to keep an eye on heading awfully close to home; ironically am out town right now.

Looks like another confirmed tornado in Pike County, AL, just east of Troy.

From NWS BMX:

At 216 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Banks, or near
Troy, moving north at 30 mph.

The SPC has highlighted a 10% tornado area over parts of the Mid Atlantic in the D2 outlook. Quote "Several tornadoes and scattered damaging winds appear probable across parts of the Mid-Atlantic" in association with Ida's remnants.

Yeah, not looking forward to that. If nothing else we're going to get a ton of rain that we don't need.

High risk of excessive rainfall tomorrow for a heavily populated segment of the northeast. Looks like it includes Philadelphia and the NY/NJ metro area. Moderate risk includes DC, Baltimore, and Boston. A lot of this area is already saturated after a few weeks of heavy rain (including TS Henri in the northeast).
