That's... interesting.
Imelda has managed to stay pretty much even latitude with Humberto moving north, which means Humberto is getting just pounded by shear from Imelda's outflow curling around. That's what's causing the disrupted core, and the dry slot shown above. The green circle denotes the surface center, so you can see how far off vertical all that shear is tilting H.

Could Imelda be stronger than forecast when it goes over Bermuda?
Kinda seems like a slow "hard right"... IJS.

This is crazy.
Humberto seems very close to decoupling completely and becoming a naked swirl. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't watching it. Absolutely being pummeled by shear from Imelda.

So - who would have believed "Imelda beats the crap out of Humberto over the head with a frying pan for trying it" on last night's episode of "As the Hurricanes Turn"?
You can almost hear her saying "Yeah, I'll turn - but not because he told me to." One hopes she continues that direction and doesn't come back west like the Euro was predicting a few days ago.

I think she should just go back to the Bahamas. She seemed to like it there the best.
