Houston Metro Severe Weather Threat May 6, 2025.

I would think if they were going to do it they would have done it at 1630Z.
Regardless of what categorial risk people are in today in East Texas, I'd keep a close eye out.

Given the environmental parameters we're seeing already, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a violent tornado somewhere in SE Texas. I think the greatest risk for that, particularly over the next 2-4 hours, is going to be western to northern portions of the Houston metro, especially if the semi-discrete convection that's initiating right now east of the San Antonio metro can establish itself.

I'd also keep a close eye on the southern end of the complex of storms just east of Austin since that appears to be in closer proximity to the warm front.

Yeah, today is a day where if everything can come together, we’re definitely gonna have some big ones.
